Exit Seats are Awesome

After 27 hours of traveling we arrived at the Wendy House (www.wendyguesthouse.com) around 2:30am (12:30pm PST). I was able to get exit row seats on both my flights, which really made them quite comfortable. When will United upgrade their 1975 in-flight movie system? They have these tiny bubble TVs playing VHSs with severe tracking problems. Get it together United.

The room here at Wendy House possibly could be the best we see on the trip--private bath w/toilet, A/C, two beds, and a nice breakfast in the morning all for $15/person/night. Aaron wimped out and got the Western breakfast. I got noodles in a broth with a little chicken. It was good, but not great. I'm already hungry for some authentic Pad Thai from a street vendor.

Aaron has a friend who's lived in Thailand for 2 years, so we're going to meet up with him this evening. Hopefully he'll show us some fun places tonight. Before that though we're going to check out some of the many temples (one has a 15 ft. tall solid gold buddha) and markets. So much to see and so little time. It's going to be hard to leave without having seen everything, but I'm sure I'll have that feeling everywhere. You just can't see it all.

Weather is extremely humid and about 82 degrees. I'll try to post pictures soon. We should probably get going though.

I should be able to post again tomorrow morning. Lah gom!

Glad to hear you made it. That is great you can get a room, meal, and High speed internet for 15/night.

I called United. Let's just say your return trip will be a very different experience. ;-)

Hi Kev: Great hearing from you! Of course, other than your return flight you have the flexibility to stay whereever you are having a nice time, yes? So don't rush along too fast.:). We continue to see your O-M ad on the TV Guide channel and RR reports continued sightings around 6:30 a.m. on NBC while he does his workouts. Yahoo for you! Have fun, take care!OXOX Twee

P.S. I called United and got David's requests straighted out. Then, I talked to your neighbors and let's just say the next time David leaves the apartment "the puppies will be visiting him."

Hey Kev! Glad to hear your flight and initial living arrangements were so posh. In Bangkok, we got good food at a restaurant called Cabbages and Condoms (can't remember where it got such a random name). But I remember it was a bit of a trek in bad traffic from where we were staying. This blog is a great idea! Look forward to hearing more.

This is a great blog, man. I'm really glad you're doing this.

I didn't know you were going to be keeping a blog until I got that last e-mail from you - - so I'm catching up now... forgive my delayed comments on everything. Just pretend I'm your really stupid friend, who doesn't understand things until two weeks later.
