A-yoo-tee-awesome

Finally got out of Bangkok on a bus this morning and found ourselves more in the countryside in Ayutthaya (A-yoo-tee-a). Very nice to get out of the city. Bangkok is big, busy, and dirty (not to say it's not interesting).

Ayutthaya is the former capital of Thailand (built in the 1300s, destroyed by the Burmese in 1767). There are many amazing ruins all over in different areas. We hired a tuk-tuk (think motorcycle with a cart) to take us around all day.

We fed elephants!

Then we got a nice dinner.

We're staying the night here and then moving on to Lopburi, where there are monkeys everywhere, tomorrow. Tomorrow evening we're going to the big city in the north, Chiang Mai where we'll use as base camp for about a week.
I gotta run. It finally is raining it sounds like. Will write again soon hopefully!

Great pics! We had lots of fun in Chiang Mai - tons of shopping. Don't forget to bargain if you're going to buy anything :)
